The effects were completely destructive and destructive. Wilson Churchill, the British Prime Minister of the period, and Great Britain had a significant place in World War II. The strategies he carried out both politically and militarily had significant effects on the outcome of World War II. In this assignment, I will discuss the importance and effects of Great Britain and Wilson Churchill’s role during World War II.

Discuss what is the importance and effects of Great Britain and Wilson Churchill in World War II?

During the Second World War, 65 million people are dead. Besides, a lot of people were left homeless and again a lot of people were crippled. These are the very sad outcome of the Second World War. On the other hand, the Second World War has been the scene of many diplomatic struggles. In that term, there were a few notable players. These were the United Kingdom, France, the USA, USSR, and America. Germany and Italy were among the countries whose stars shone. In World War, I was won by guns. On the other hand, World War II was won by diplomacy. That is the most important feature that separates the two wars. The United Kingdom, the “country with no sunset on it,” was very critical of European diplomacy. If the United Kingdom were to lose, the whole war would probably be lost. For all of the reasons, the United Kingdom had a very significant role in Europe and the Second World War. There are two critical points for the Second World War and UK diplomacy. These were Wilson Churchill’s election as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Operation Dynamo (Dunkirk evacuation).

July May 26 and June 4, the Dunkirk landing was an operation to remove British troops trapped in the Dunkirk area off the southern coast of France. It was a very significant evacuation. End of the Dunkirk evacuation the direction of the Second World War changed. In this evacuation, Wilson Churchill and Vice Admiral Bertram Ramsay (The Royal Navy) plan to evacuate the highest possible number of troops. On the other hand, the United Kingdom had enough ships and sea power for the evacuating to soldiers from Dunkirk. On the other hand, this operation was so dangerous the end of the evacuation the United Kingdom was facing losing all its military power. So that reason, Churchill and Admiral Ramsay have developed a strategy. It aimed to bring the troops in the area back to the United Kingdom by civilian ships over 10 meters at the highest possible level. In the evacuation, their expectation was to save 28,000 soldiers. However, the end of the evacuation 225,000 BEF plus over 100,000 French and Belgian soldiers were evacuated. In this evacuation, Churchill and Admiral Ramsey played an important role. Planning to evacuation Admiral Ramsey to issued a statement from the BBC and he urged the civilian population to support this evacuation. This was very important because this evacuation took place with public support. After the evacuation, the direction of the Second World War changed in favor of the United Kingdom. So, Dunkirk evacuation was the most important point for the Second World War.

Wilson Churchill’s election as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom was the second important point for the United Kingdom. Beginning of the Second World War Neville Chamberlain was the prime minister of the United Kingdom. However, during the Second Wolrd War, he was not showing effective diplomatic strategies against Germany and Hitler regimes. So, The opposition wanted Chamberlain to resign and a new prime minister to be elected. After that situation, Churchill was the best option for all parties and the king. Because it was a name loved and supported by many segments. After that point, he became a role model and most important person of the second world war with Roosevelt. He was showing very significant and effective leadership. We can saw this effect in his speech at the United Kingdom Parliament. He was focused on the “We will not surrender”. This is a very important point and he never supported sitting at the peace table with Hitler. He argues that sitting at the peace table with Hitler meant signing an agreement that the United Kingdom would lose at the table unless the United Kingdom was in an advantageous position. That’s why the legend at the end of the darkest hour gave the speech in Parliament. This speech has changed the direction of the Second World War. Churchill, beginning of his election he has not accepted peace agreement because they wanted to provide full constitution in all Europe including the United Kindom. So that reason he did not accept a peace agreement with Hitler.

Consequently, the United Kingdom has changed the direction of the Second World War with Dunkirk Evacuation and Election of Churchill. These two events are provided to seized the advantage on the frontline and in diplomacy. the Second World War resulted in the victory of the United Kingdom and the European states at the end of eight years. These were the victory of democracy against fascism and dictatorship. It is the second importance of the Second World War. End of the analyzing, the United Kingdom and Churchill were providing to victory and carrying to the “guardian of democracy” mission.
